Bluebird Local Nursing is owned and founded by Jessie Hazelwood, RN, BS, MHA, a compassionate healthcare leader with over twenty years of experience serving patients in the Austin area. Jessica's journey in healthcare began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Evansville, followed by an Associate Degree in Nursing from Austin Community College, and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University.

Jessie spent seven years in the ICU at South Austin Medical Center, where she honed her skills in critical care. She then transitioned to home health, home health management, and infusion nursing. Hailing from a strong tradition in healthcare, Jessie is a third-generation nurse who shares a healthcare career with physicians, social workers, and nurses on both sides of the family.

Falling in love with Austin in 2001, Jessie “got to Texas as quick as she could” from Indiana. An accomplished triathlete, Jessie shares her passion for sports, exercise, and the outdoors with her son and partner. Enjoying all this city has to offer, you can usually find her and the family running Town Lake or swimming at Barton Springs, Quarry Lake or one of the many swimming holes in the area.
